My friend, David Murphy over at FoodnService, created a monkey bread recipe specifically for the Instant Pot.
Say what? Monkey bread in the pressure cooker? Can’t you make that in the oven?
Yes, you can. So why are you making it in a pressure cooker? As David would say, “Because I can.” That and because it’s so stinkin’ good.
Any time I make monkey bread in the oven, it comes out a lot drier than I’d like it to be. I like mine nice and gooey. I’d have to add a boat load of butter to get that in the oven-baked version. David to the rescue! With this pressure cooker recipe, David delivers. In flavor. Not to your house.
David makes his monkey bread in two mini loaf pans that fit in the IP perfectly. IP. Instant Pot. You know that. Right? Anywho, I have two mini loaf pans (I actually have four) but I couldn’t find them. No need to panic. My 7-inch spring form pan was sitting there so I used it, hoping it would work. Score! The perfect size for a 6-quart pot.
No springform pan? No problem. The only requirement is that the pan you use must fit in your pot.
At the last minute, I decided to throw some butterscotch chips into the recipe. Just for the heck of it. Too much of a good thing? Nah. Can’t ever be too much. But let me make it perfectly clear that David’s recipe, as written, needs absolutely nothing added to it. It’s so good as is.
This stuff is primo. The steamy environment of the pressure cooker assures that your monkey bread is going to be addictive and crazy delicious.
Here’s your gateway to the stash. Instant Pot Monkey Bread. Take a taste. You’ll be back for more.
